Re-Opening of Schoolhouse on Mainstreet Parker Colorado 02/24/18
Come one, come all, to the GRAND Re-Opening of The Schoolhouse on Mainstreet in Parker Colorado.
Let’s all head down for a ribbon cutting ceremony with crafts, music, cake, tours, and more on
Saturday, February 24th from 10:00am- 12:00pm.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
Parker’s Old Town Creative District, located just off of Parker Road on Mainstreet, is a staple in our community.
And the Schoolhouse on Mainstreet, located adjacent to the new Parker Arts, Culture & Event Center (PACE), just behind the Ruth Memorial Chapel, is one of the oldest historical spots in the district.
This building, originally opened in 1915 and used as a schoolhouse and a church, is now home to classrooms for community events and historical artifact display, an auditorium for the performing arts, a gymnasium for recreational activities, and even an art gallery operated in partnership with Parker Artists Guild.
The Town of Parker purchased this building in 1995 and has now taken wonderful steps (and a $3.5 Million dollar budget) to bring us an “all-new” schoolhouse!
