Dirt Biking Colorado! Mountains of Fun.
In the middle of September my riding buddy Kelly Patterson and I received an invitation to join in on the Awesome Autumn Ride. The ride is a yearly event put together by Corey Corbett with Stay the Trail and Colorado Off highway Vehicle Coalition. It was my first time out with these guys but I can say they were all very welcoming and super nice. I had a blast!
Kelly and I left the house early Saturday morning to catch the 8AM check in up in Winter Park. We had no idea what were were getting into.
The ride covered about 300 miles over two days and my butt felt like it was 800 miles. Other than a few minor falls and one face plant all was good. No breakdowns for us but there were two guys that were picked up by the sweep crew. The ride was so professionally put together that yes they even had a sweep crew.
A new experience for me on this ride was using the roll chart on the handle bars. It basically tells you when to turn by rolling the chart according to your current mileage. I liked it.
Bottom line is I hope they will allow us back next year as we completely loved it. I’ll shut up now and you can enjoy the photos below.
