Stonegate is one of Parker’s best neighborhoods for many reasons. Parker is a relatively newer area really only seeing major growth in the last 10 to 15 years. Stonegate real estate is one of the earliest planned neighborhoods for Parker that was started in the mid 1980’s and still not completed. There is a section on the north and south side of Lincoln Avenue.
There are three major reasons buyers like Stonegate real estate.
1. Location and ease of access to all major roads. Stonegate is approximately 20 miles to downtown making for a pretty easy commute. Stonegate is 3 miles east of I-25 and less than one mile to the E-470 toll road.
2. Award winning schools right in the neighborhood. Pine Grove Elementary school is located in the middle of the south section of Stonegate which makes it very easy for kids and parents to walk to school. Pine Grove is rated as “Excellent” for it’s student achievement and teachers.
3. Amenities! Open space, bike paths, parks, pools and tennis. Stonegate has two large pool areas. On the north side Stonegate has what is referred to by the kids as the “bucket pool” which is a zero depth entry pool for kids and adults. On the south side is the swim team pool with an additional pool for diving and slides. There is also a kiddie pool on the south Stonegate pool area. Take your choice as they are both fun! Tennis courts are lighted and ready to play. Open space, parks and playgrounds are located throughout Stonegate for family fun and get togethers. My favorite is the bike path whcih runs throughout the neighborhood and connectes with the Chery Creek Bike Trail. You can ride from Stonegate to downtown on the bike path!

Stonegate is special for many reasons but the location in Parker Colorado is probably the main reason families flock here. Located just south of E-470, East of I-25 and righ on Parker Road make it a great choice for any family looking for an easy commute to work with plenty of activities when they get home. Top rates Douglas County Schools and a great selection of private schools also help.

- New Kids pool with a zero depth entry, fountains and a huge curly slide. YEAH!
- Brand new large concessions area with clubhouse and meeting/party rooms. YEAH!
- Expanded pool deck with more chairs and there is rumored to be more shaded areas for parents with small kids and those of us not wanting to sit in the sun. YEAH!

Douglas County Colorado Ranked # 5 for Young and Wealthy in the Nation

CNN Money released a report a month or so back “Where the jobs are” that ranked Douglas County Colorado as the number 5 spot for wealthy young adults. There is even a mention that some locals have nicknamed the area “Silicon Mountain.”
I guess we have always known this but the rest of the world didn’t. Douglas county is ideally situated between Denver and Colorado Springs and encompasses Parker, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock and Franktown Colorado. Our quality of life and abundance of amenities have created the perfect location/reason for large companies to decide to relocate here.
- Highly educated workforce.
- Cost of living is low compared to most large cities.
- Housing costs are some of the most reasonable in the country. We have had our share of foreclosures but massive deprecation of property values was contained to a few small areas of the city.
- Douglas County real estate and home prices held steady during the real estate crash.
- Outdoor and open space activities. A well thought out bike trail system allows people to access most parts of the city via their bike, walking or whatever they choose.
- Hiking trails in beautiful open spaces with easy access to State and National Forests and Parks.
- A state of the art light rail system in place and operating with large plans to expand that are already underway and some awaiting approval.
- A very established Denver Center for the Performing Arts venue with a full schedule of world class events and shows.
- Douglas County has a wonderful schools and there are plenty of options for Private schools as well.
- World class museums and the Denver Zoo that will make you want to come back over and over again.
- Oh and don’t forget the best skiing in the WORLD an hour from your door.
- Fishing, hunting, snowshoeing and any other outdoor adventure you can imagine. It’s all here. Except the ocean! Oops.

Hail Damage in Parker, Colorado. Roof Replacement.

The Stonegate neighborhood in Parker Colorado was severely hit with a hail storm in early June. Over the next week we were repeatedly pounded with afternoon hail storms, rain and high winds. Many homes and cars were damaged and insurance claims are a daily occurrence. Hail storms are not new to our area but the devastating hail we did receive was uncommon. For the small section of Stonegate that I live in I do know that of the 7 homes that filed claims 5 of us so far have been approved for new roof replacements. Today they are working on replacing our roof so I thought I would share a few photos below.
The mess and especially the noise makes working out of the house impossible. I’ve stopped by twice to check on the progress and they keep telling me that they will be done today. We’ll see. The roofing foreman said 17 guys will be here to apply the roof after the felt paper is applied.
The insurance adjuster that came out to inspect the damage said our roof had double the required damage needed to qualify for replacement. They measured out an area of 100 square feet on the roof and counted the missing, damaged and freshly split shakes. She was up there for several hours tallying up the damage and filling out her report. All she said to me was “Looks like you will be getting a new roof!”
